Joe Michelini designed the Airmarine Special himself, and steered it to first place in the “APBA Class F” competition in the year 1958. More than 25 years of
experience in boat-building enabled him to develop a special hull which made the Airmarine Special an extremely stable racing boat capable of speeds of more than 110 km/hr.
We have modelled this superb racing boat to a scale of 1 : 5.2. The vessel is assembled entirely from mahogany and birch plywood. The cockpit and fin are covered with Oratex, which is also included in the kit. The boat is built using the proven Depron jig method; the accurately die-cut templates guarantee that the model goes together easily and precisely. Our Airmarine Special is powered by an outboard motor which is available separately.
The kit contains:
Comprehensive and handsomely illustrated building instructions, mahogany, spruce and plywood parts, all laser-cut, Oratex covering fabric, fittings, etched nickelsilver
parts and a Depron jig.
The pilot figure and outboard motor are not included in the kit.
